Flashback Friday

Thanksgiving break in MB was a blast! One of the days we headed to Build-a-Bear and Ava created Lucy. I was just looking through old pictures and came across Ava's first trip to Build-a-Bear...

So crazy how much has changed since then!

22!

So 21 has come and gone and I am officially 22 years and 1 week old. I had a wonderful birthday, and it really showed me how awesome my friends and family are for making it such a special day. My roommates decorated the apartment, had presents and cupcakes waiting and then took me to dinner and out with all of my friends. It was an awesome night and a good almost end to the semester.

Yes, I got a SNUGGIE! Hah

Goldie!

My roommates dog from home has been living with us for a couple of months now. She is a toy poodle and is just too cute. She is about 10 years old but you would never be able to tell. Today, Brittany and I, took her to Pet's Mart and came back with a new dress and collar. Here she is all dressed up...

Isn't she precious? :)

Experimenting

Lately I have been experimenting in the kitchen. Figured it could be exciting to spice up what I am eating so I have been trying some new recipes, a lot of fish ones. I am not a vegetarian and do not intend on becoming one but I really have to be in the mood to eat meat. I kind of got tired of cooking the same basic shrimp/salmon/mahi recipes so I have started branching out and making at least one new recipe a week. Even though I am really busy I feel pretty accomplished after cooking a new meal, especially if it is really delicious.

Because I am so busy and I generally am cooking for only myself or one other person I like to keep the recipes pretty simple. I also normally try to cook simpler recipes because I am not a fan of buying a ton of ingredients I won't use often. My favorite website to use is kraftfoods.com. I like Kraft products and I generally always buy them so that is the main reason I like the site. I also like the site because the recipes are very simple and I haven't had a bad one yet.

Last week I made a Glazed Mahi- So delicious!!!! Since it turned out so good I figured I would share the recipe.

The ingredients for the glazed fish are:
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 4 (6 ounce) mahi mahi fillets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
I did not add the ginger root and it was still good. I also only used 1 tablespoon of each ingredient because I was only glazing one fish. You can find the full recipe here.

Since I have been trying to find new recipes I was thinking that maybe once a week we could all share a recipe that we made during the week. Thoughts?

Tonight I am making a black bean chili and tomorrow I am planning on making a parmesan baked salmon. Happy cooking everyone!

Halloween!

This year I was Minnie Mouse! I did a lot of crafting to make my outfit and I am very proud of how it turned out. I stenciled and cut out all of the white polka dots and glued them onto my outfit. I also cut off the pink bow that was on my ears and added a big, red one. Overall I think it turned out good and I had a very fun night!

Canes Game!

Today I got a phone call from a friend asking if I wanted to attend a Carolina Hurricanes game with her. (For those of you who don't know the Canes are a NHL team) Someone she works with has season tickets and wasn't going and gave her the tickets. They were lower level seats, with a great view! Had a fun time, would have been better had we won... maybe next time!

Here is a picture from our seats- I love cell phone cameras.

Interviews Part II

Well my first two interviews are over with and I couldn't be more happy to be done with them. I have had interviews in the past but these were the first interviews I have had for full-time employment. The first one went okay, wasn't too stressful, just tried to answer the interviewers questions as confidently as I could. Haven't heard anything back, but then again they were only hiring 6 people so the competition was pretty steep. The second interview... well I don't think there is enough space to talk about how bad it went. I was told I was qualified for the position but when I got into the interview room I was told they were only looking for technical people (Well Hello, I am a Finance major not an Information Systems Major!) So as soon as I heard that I knew it was going to be a tough interview. So all of the questions that were presented after were about IT, I don't know things about IT, again I am a Finance major! So yeah when asked if I knew how to work Java, code things, etc etc I was 100% positive I was not getting a second interview and was sure I didn't want one either. If I have no idea what is going on in the interview, then clearly it is not meant to be. Kind of frustrating that I was told I was qualified and then lead to believe it was a non-technical position and then be asked all technical questions. So got the big denied email today, "We would love to have you here but........" I knew it was coming, I knew the job wasn't right but it still kinda sucks, you are good and all but everyone else was better... Keeping my head held high though and hoping for better opportunities to come my way!

Interviews

So as I have mentioned the job hunt is on and moving in full force. I have applied for a lot of jobs (10ish) as of now, rejected from a couple, accepted on some, applications still pending on others. But the good news is, I have two interviews set for this week! I am very excited but nervous at the same time. Hopefully all goes well!

Weekend

Had a blast this weekend with my parents, Chad, Michelle, Ava and Linc. Mich stopped by Raleigh and picked me up and then we headed to Jacksonville together. The kids were super cute as always and it was just comforting being at home again. While visiting we got in trips to the Aquarium, the beach, and a pumpkin patch. (Check out pictures on Michelle's blog). At the Aquarium we all took pictures in a giant crab, well not Michelle because she was too cool ;-) Here is mine!!

The weekend was over way too quick and I felt like I was instantly back in the real world. Luckily this week I only have classes today and tomorrow and then I am off to DC for Fall Break.. well not before a midterm, a presentation, a Meet the Employer and a Career Fair eekkk. Short weeks somehow are always the worst. The job hunt just seems to be going, I know it is still early, just the whole process is stressfulllll. Most of the places I have applied for still are open, meaning the deadline to apply hasn't passed, so I probably won't hear anything till around then. Just keeping my fingers crossed that something comes my way!

While I was home I also got a haircut! Cut off 3 inches! Feels so much healthier and I really like the new look. Hope everyone is enjoying the Fall weather!

And the hunt begins!

Well I have been checking the career center site at school religiously now for a month or two. Researched a ton of companies and compiled a list of them, deadlines, programs, locations, etc, etc. And I have finally applied for my first full-time position.. with many more applications and resume drops to go! The feeling when I hit submit was very strange. I was excited but SO nervous, my stomach felt so strange, and I felt like maybe I was gonna have a panic attack. Yes, I do overact often and about everything. I know I am a Senior and I know I have to find a job for after I graduate but the process of actually applying is still so intense. I feel so helpless again, its like the feeling when I applied to college and waited and waited for a response. In the next few months I feel like there will be a lot of that... Did I get an initial interview, did I get a follow up interview, did I get the job?? I know I have worked hard through college and I continue to work hard but is that going to be enough? Is my hard work and late nights going to pay off? Those are questions I honestly can't answer but hope to soon! So the hunt begins and will end only when I find work. Wish me luck!!

American Flag

Last night NC State played Murray State and we won 65-7. Clearly there wasn't much competition. I'm ready for the Conference games to start already! Last night it was Military Appreciation day and at halftime members from all different branches of the Military came out onto the field and opened a flag that took up the entire field. Very neat!

It's the most wonderful time of the year..

It's Football Season!! Hooray! We had our first football game on Thursday night against South Carolina. Wish I could say we won, but at least it was close. It was a pretty boring game I must say with a final score of 7-3. We should of and could of won.. I don't even want to get started on the TWO dropped passes in the end zone... Even though we lost, it is always fun to be in Carter Finley Stadium surrounded by other Wolfpack fans decked out in their red, white and black! I seriously get depressed thinking of graduating and losing my student tickets, I may just have to invest in real grown-up people seats. I had seats in the North End Zone, so when the players were on my side it was awesome, a little hard to see when they were on the other. Being so close (3rd row) I got to get a picture with Mrs. Wolf- to be posted soon! Here is a picture taken with my phone at the game, a little blurry but you get the point..

As you can tell I LOVE football season- seriously the highlight of my year. Such a fun way to spend a weekend, tailgating and watching football with friends! But besides football season, I am also very excited for Pumpkin Spice Latte season. I had my first one of the year this morning- made my day! I love Starbucks seasonal latte's, I really do become their biggest customer in the fall and winter.. I am already looking forward to Gingerbread latte's.

Labor Day and Florida Pictures!

I had a very relaxing Labor Day at home with my parents. Got to spend time with friends from high school and get some shopping done! On Saturday I got to see Chad play in a soccer tournament, his team did okay but ended up losing the game. Watching him play really makes me miss my days out on the field. I went to the beach on Sunday and just walked around, it was kinda cloudy/rainy but still very enjoyable and just relaxing. It got me excited for Myrtle Beach, I can't wait to get a Starbucks coffee and sit on the beach and read... how many days left Mich??

Here is a picture from my phone of the beach yesterday (Finally figured out how to e-mail myself pictures from my phone, very neat!)

While I was at home I came across some family photo's from Florida. I figured I would share :)

Kenny Chesney!

I had a blast at the Kenny Chesney concert last weekend. It was probably one of the best concerts I have been to in awhile. Everyone that performed did amazing, I only wish the concert had been on a Saturday and not a Sunday, made for a very tiring Monday. I had lawn seats and there was no open space at all. It was crazy how many people they fit into the amphitheater. I think I will make Kenny an annual tradition!

The Uniform dun dun dun

Here it is, sweat stains and all! As much as I dislike the uniform, I really like my class! It is a great workout and its fun! Today was good except for the fact that I forgot a hair tie and my hair was flying all over the place. Lesson learned though, I will never forget my hair tie again!

Sorry for my gross appearance, I took this right after class.

PE Uniforms

So growing up, well really just Catholic school (1st-8th grade), I had uniforms and PE uniforms. No big deal, I was young and it was the normal thing to do at the time. I actually think I enjoyed my PE uniform back then because it was a lot more comfortable than my blue pants or skirt and white polo. Continuing on through the rest of my education, I had one semester of PE in high school and we were allowed to wear whatever. Sounds pretty normal, right? Well I am currently enrolled in Step Aerobics and we are required to wear uniforms, yes uniforms. Last time I checked I was in college and if I am old enough to live on my own, feed myself, drive myself around, basically be an adult, then why on earth do I have to wear a uniform? Am I overreacting? Probably, that is a bad habit of mine. Luckily my uniform is just a shirt and I am allowed to wear my own bottoms, but only if they are red, black or navy blue, and there are suppose to have minimal or no stripes on the side. Let me describe this shirt, better yet draw you an illustration:

NC State
----M----
Physical Education
2009

YES, it has our size on it, why you ask, I have no idea! The part that really annoys me about these uniforms is that they expect you to rent them from the gym. I personally am not going to wear a gym shirt that 5+ other people wore, vom. That's just plain gross. Thankfully, the bookstore now sells the gym shirt so I am not forced to wear someones used workout outfit. People in my class were, which is totally fine for them, but someone had the year 2006 on there shirt. Umm I am a senior and in 2006 I was in high school. So if we do the math that means that shirt was worn by at least 10 different people (if you include summer sessions). Okay this turned out to be a lot longer than I meant but this is really how annoyed with them I am. One more annoyance, I have an Accounting class then a small break before PE. So after class I went to the bathroom and since I was already in there I decided to change. I saw several people I knew and every single one of them commented on my outfit. I, already being annoyed I had to wear this outfit, was now embarrassed that people were commenting on it. Oh the woes of college. Guess it's good that this is the only issue I am having in my life currently, definitely could be a lot worse. On that note I am going to stop venting and start on some Accounting homework, fun fun.

My Real Life Goals

The first couple days of classes have gone well. I think I am going to be pretty busy but hopefully I will learn lots! I am enrolled in an online English class for business majors, we do things like write cover letters, resumes, reports, etc. Our first assignment was to write a one page paper on our real life goals. I figured I would share..

Throughout my life I have always set goals and then either achieved those goals or decided to move my life into another direction. College has been an amazing learning experience and has been a great place to develop my life goals. From the beginning of my college career to now, my goals for my future have changed and I see them continually changing as I grow in life. Currently, in my life I am about to face serious changes. I, as a college senior, am about to embark on the journey into the “real world.” Is this scary- absolutely, am I excited- one hundred percent. My one goal that has remained with me throughout all of college is to not only make it through college but to graduate with honors. I am so close to this goal I can almost picture myself with my sash on graduation day. If I accomplish this goal I will be able to truly see that all the hard work paid off and other people will be able to see it too. I guess partially this goal has to do with image. I value what my friends, family and colleagues think of me. Graduating college should be an accomplishment in itself, but if I also did it while maintaining a good GPA, well that’s even better.

As a college senior the “real world” and the job market are on my radar. A goal I set for myself last year, as I saw my friends struggle to find work, was to start the job hunt early and have a job before Christmas break. I think this goal is absolutely possible and realistic. It may take a lot out of me, I might be stressed out and anxious, but in the end if I achieve this goal I know I will truly feel like I have accomplished something. I will know that my time at NC State prepared me for something bigger. Since I began my job hunt the criteria has grown. Not only do I want a job, but I want a job I enjoy, in a city I love. I want to have a job, but I do not want to have a job and not be happy. If I am not happy that means I am not fulfilled. I do know that at first it might be hard to accomplish this goal, that as a recent college graduate I may not always be assigned tasks or projects that interest me. I do know that I will have to work my way up the corporate ladder, which may mean struggling at first to find my niche in the company.

My short term goals are fairly straightforward, graduate college with honors, get a good job, be happy, and stay healthy. I know that I can’t tell the future and that in five or ten years what I want now for my life may be completely different. I do know that wherever I work I want to be respected by my fellow employees and I want to accomplish things honestly and openly. I want to maintain my values while searching for my place in the company and building my name in the business world. Like many others, I have always dreamed of being the CEO of a large company. I want to be a role model for others, I want to help people and I want to be successful. Sometimes I think that all of this isn’t possible, but it is a goal of mine to work hard and to be able to enjoy what I earn and to share it with others. I know there are so many people that solely focus on work and never enjoy life. I want to be a successful person but I still want to take time to see the world. I want to work hard so that one day I can enjoy my successes. However, the thing with goals and dreams is that sometimes they don’t come true or that they change. Currently I am single, I am not married nor do I have children. In ten years from now this may be a completely different story and I may want to be a stay at home mother, instead of the CEO I dream of being now. I do know that as long as I am happy, healthy and my family and friends are the same, my life will be fulfilled and that will mean that I have achieved all of my goals.

Last Day of Summer

Today is the last day of my last summer vacation. I don't know whether to cry and lay in bed all day or get out of the house and enjoy the nice weather today?! I think I am going to chose to go outdoors, and I probably should complete my list of errands before my schedule gets crazy hectic. This year I do not have as many classes but of course I decided to take on the responsibility of Vice President of Alumni Relations in my professional business fraternity. So add that to 13 class hours and working 15-20 hours, I will be a busy girl. Guess I should also add in job hunting ahh getting so stressed and it all hasn't even started yet. Must talk about something different before I have a panic attack...

I am actually getting a new roommate today. My fourth roommate moved out in May because she graduated and moved to Charlotte for work. We were informed in late June that we were getting a random roommate. Turns out that she didn't get into the program at State that she wanted to so she wasn't going to move in. She did, however, have a lease and needed someone to fill it. She had been searching on Craig's List (I was not happy about this at all- a random girl, finding us a random roommate!) but was not all that successful. So move in day was on Saturday and no one moved in, sigh of relief. Well yesterday I got a text from a friend from High School asking me about rent prices for my unit. Turns out she was having issues in her two bedroom apartment and was transferring to a four bedroom. BOOM it hit me, Maggie can live with us! So this afternoon Maggie will be moving in and I am so excited that we don't have to deal with a Craig's List rando anymore! I have actually known Maggie since elementary school, her parents live down the road from mine, and we use to play soccer together back in the day and again in high school. I am glad that this situation is all figured out and I look forward to getting to know Maggie again.

This past weekend I was in Williamsburg! I originally was set to attend a conference and planned a mini-vacation around it but the conference got moved to UVA so I just decided to skip out on it and visit with the family. I had fun hanging with everyone, especially the kids. They are too cute and constantly changing. Every time I go to visit they are doing something different or in Ava's case talking about something new. I love hanging out and crafting with Ava, she is probably the most precious kid in the world, although, I might be biased because she is a mini Zsa Zsa. We made a cookie jar (see Michelle's blog) and the roommates loved it! It is sitting on our kitchen counter next to our sugar, coffee, etc jars. Hopefully I will get to see everyone again before Thanksgiving, schedules permitting. Thanks again for letting me stay with you Michelle and Chris!

I never did blog about it but last week but I did do the hydration station and it was awesome!! So relaxing and your skin is so moisturized after a session. I will probably be attending a few times a month!

Weekend in a nutshell

I had a very eventful weekend starting with First Friday on Friday night. I had heard of it before but had never attended, it was a very neat experience. On the first Friday of the month, all of the art galleries in downtown Raleigh open up their doors to the public. Everything is free from the admission, to the snacks, and the wine. I saw some awesome artwork and even got to meet a few artists. If I had the money I would of bought several pieces. My favorite was a painting of the NYC skyline. It was at least 8 feet long and had a glass overlay. If I had an extra $10,000 laying around I would of bought it on the spot, maybe one day (hah!). I definitely want to make First Friday a monthly tradition!

Yesterday I was in Greenville visiting my best friends. I honestly don't know what I would do without them, they make my heart smile. We have all made it through college at different schools but I think it would be a perfect scenario if we all ended up in the same town for our future careers. A girl can only hope..

All in all I had a wonderful weekend and I am looking forward to the week ahead. Tomorrow I have an appointment for at a hydration station. It is suppose to moisturize my skin and improve the appearance of skin tone and texture. It looks like a space ship and changes colors. I am expecting it to be similar to a sauna feeling but the bed you lay on even massages you while your in there! Should be an interesting experience- I will post about it later this week.

No longer waiting

I FINALLY got my grade today.. a B+. Good because I only really had 3 grades, two sets of two essays and a 60 question final. Guess I should be happy with a B+, but I've always hated getting B's, especially B+'s, because they are so close to A's, like one point away. Enough rambling on that at least I am done with that class and can look forward to my upcoming trip to Williamsburg and the start of my final year at State!

Not so patiently waiting

I am officially done with summer school hooray!! I took my final exam yesterday and now I am just anxiously awaiting my final grade. Going into the final I had an A in the class and I think I did well on the final (I studied for days and days- so I hope I did!) but even with all the preparation I still am just nervous. I like instant gratification and waiting for grades I believe is cruel! Well not really cruel, but there is so much pressure built into grades and exams and finals and then to have to wait days, sometimes a week, to find out how you did ughhh frustrates me to no end. So on that note I will continue to crazily check my email and State accounts religiously until I hear some news!

FLORIDA

I had a very short but very lovely vacation in Florida this past week. It is always great to get down there and see the Wagner clan. Every time I go to Grammie and Pop Pop's house it reminds me of my childhood and my summers there. I definitely miss that carefree lifestyle and the ability to spend weeks at a time with my grandparents. I also enjoyed hanging out with the cousins and just seeing how different they are. Can't believe some of them are in high school. Talking to them I feel like a mom, don't do this, be good, stay away from this, etc. It's hard seeing everyone grow up, because then it reminds me I am too! Okay back to the vacation.. so the first and second day there we just hung out- all the aunts and uncles and cousins (minus my older brothers) and that was neat because it has been over three years since we have all gotten together. On Monday we headed to Orlando and went to Epcot that night. We didn't get to the park as early as I would of liked to but it was still a good night. On Tuesday we went to the Magic Kingdom from about 9am-12am. It was a veryyyy long day but incredibly awesome. I feel like such a kid when I am there and I love it. Disney has a special place in my heart, something about that place that just brings a huge smile to my face. It was crowded, obviously because it's July, but nothing I couldn't handle. The longest wait was about 35 minutes and then we fast passed just about everything else. The fireworks were amazing as always, well the little bit we saw, jumping on and off rides. We traveled in a herd of 16 people, which sounds like a crazy amount, but it went incredibly smooth. On Wednesday we headed to MGM, rode the 2 rides, walked around and then I raced to the airport to make my flight. The vacation was so go, go, go constantly that when I finally got back to Raleigh I crashed. Slept for 13 straight hours- insane. I am pretty much back to myself and my schedule from my two days of work. I would share pictures but I didn't take any. As soon as my uncles/aunts/mother post some I will share! Until then I will keep daydreaming about my return trip :)

my thoughts

So I recently completed Steve Harvey's, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, and overall it was good. There were definitely some funny parts, some parts that stood out like, "wow that makes sense," and then there were the parts that really bothered me. I was always raised to be an independent person, I don't know if in part that comes from being the only girl in a family of boys or what but I was always taught that if you can't stand on your on two feet you haven't made it. I am grateful that I am as independent and strong as I am. I know so many people that are so dependent on others, whether their family, friends or significant others and they can't live without constant feedback from them. To me that's sad, and I just don't get it. So in one of the last chapters in Harvey's book he goes on to say that strong, independent woman are lonely woman. So as I read this chapter I begin to think, is the fact that I am getting a college education, with hopes for a very successful career, determining my "love life." The chapter continues to say things like if you know how to fix something, act like you don't so your man can fix it and feel better about himself. If you make more money than your man make sure you don't show it or let him know. It also said to allow him to pay for everything. Now I get that men want to provide and I understand that, but what's wrong with chipping in and paying for things? I personally am not the type to allow someone to continually buy me things without repaying the favor, isn't that just common courtesy? The chapter continued with many other words of "wisdom" and as I continued to read and get more angry at Steve Harvey I began to think, if whoever I'm with doesn't appreciate that I am educated and have career aspirations, and have the money to take care of myself, then isn't that person just not right for me? Why should I have to dumb myself down to be in a relationship. So I say to you Steve Harvey- I plan to be independent, strong, successful, happy and loved!

Summer

I just love the summer, for many reasons:

Warm weather which means..
Dresses
The Beach
The Pool
Concerts

And I think I had more things to list but those are a good starting place. But anyways, I am enjoying the summer months, I have made lots of visits home to see the family and my friends. I am also working these days at Ameriprise Financial, which is a financial planning firm. It's a lot of fun/different from past jobs and I am really enjoying it thus far. I generally work only 3ish days a week for about 15-20 hours, so still plenty of free time during my last summer break dun dun dun.

Speaking of fun summer events I went to Brad Paisley on Saturday and it was a ton of fun!! I am not really into country music but country concerts are awesome, I would suggest them to everyone, especially Brad Paisley, doesn't hurt that he is adorable.

Sadly I am starting summer school in a couple of weeks but luckily it's online so hopefully it will be just as easy as my last summer class.. one can only hope.

How To Guide

I will be nice, but just this one time...

< u > --- put this before the title
< / u > --- put this after the title

Do NOT include the spaces between the < >'s and the u, I had to do that so it wouldn't underline the instructions.

You need the / after the title or it will underline the entire post.

Also, you can use this same format to italicize (i), bold (b), center (c), etc.

Hope this helps!!

Thinking Like a Man

I love summer because I finally have free time to read.. well before summer school starts that is! I recently started, and by recent I mean last night, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man -- Haha I know how to underline and the Sister in Law's don't ;-) So far very good. I sat down last night and read before bed and got the first 50 pages down. It is a very easy, light read and also quite funny. Definitely makes sense --> Men are simple beings plain and simple. I will have to post a list of some quotes from the book because Steve Harvey is indeed a funny guy, he says it like it is, love that! I have a whole list of other books for the summer too (all before summer school in late June): The Lucky One, Chasing Harry Winston, and whatever else Mich throws my way :)

Senior

Well I successfully finished up my Junior year on Wednesday the 29th. It felt great to finish up but so weird at the same time. I am now a Senior in college, I will have to start looking for jobs within a matter of months, I will be joining the 'real world' soon... it's all very scary to think about. Anyways, I had the best semester yet this semester finishing up with a 3.7 GPA. All A's and one B so pretty exciting!

The past couple weeks have been fun filled including Demit, The Hillsborough Hike, Triangle Beach Music Festival, a trip to Williamsburg, some pool days and some fun nights out with friends. I love summer time :)

I had a wonderful time visiting the fam in Williamsburg. The kids are adorable as always and I had a great time hanging out with Chris and Michelle. Hopefully I will get to visit again soon, and we can go to Busch Gardens!!

Junior Year

Well junior year has come and is basically gone. Next week this time I will be taking my last exam and preparing for a fun filled summer of work and one summer class. Hard to believe that I will be a senior in college, really hard to believe... A lot has happened in this crazy hectic year but I loved pretty much every minute of it. I may become a student forever because I am just not ready to be a grown up. Good thing I have another year to "grow up." Graduation is May 9th and a good majority of my friends will be turning their tassel and moving on to the real world. Scary thing is a lot of them still haven't been able to find jobs. Its a scary thought being in college when the job market is in the tank. My hopes for this time next year is a job. I want to graduate knowing where I am going and what I will be doing..

Happy Earth Day to everyone, hope you are enjoying this beautiful day!!

Spring Break

The first week in March I headed to Panama City Beach, Florida with my roommates and several other friends for spring break. I must say it was probably one of the best weeks of my life. I had so much fun and would drive the 13 hours back there right now to relive it all again. Just being on the Gulf was awesome, it was so pretty to watch the sunset every night while lounging in the hot tub or sitting on the beach! Our condo was beautiful and had a huge balcony.. the only down side was our break was earlier than most schools and at times, in our condo, I felt like I was in a retirement community. But besides that the beach was great, met a lot of people (mostly from Michigan), and of course the bars were fun too. It was pretty nice the last couple of days there but not nearly as warm as it was the following week, oh well we still laid out and got a tan! Still trying to get back into school mode after break, only have about a month and a half left of the semester and then I am a senior, scary thought!!

In the hot tub!

High School Reunion

Obviously not my ten year.. This past Saturday I went to Greenville and saw all of my best friend's from high school. I talk to most of them often but for all of us to be together again at the same time, in the same place was awesome. I seriously haven't smiled or laughed that hard in a long time and random moments from the weekend keep coming to mind and I start laughing aloud, I think people are beginning to think I am going crazy :) School and work and life have been stressing me out lately so a break from that was very much needed.

Here is a group picture of us + my current roommate Britt

In other exciting news, 11 days till Panama City for Spring Break!!!!!!!!!

Bad Blogger

I am horrible at this.. I never ever seem to update this thing. I am going to try and be better about that. While on the topic of blogging in general, I am doing a project on social media, particularly on blogging and micro-blogging, so I am going to need everyones help with surveys and stuff :) More details to come soon.

So January has flown by and it's already almost the middle of February. January was fun, it SNOWED, school is picking up with projects and tests galore but work however has slowed down to almost extinction. My employer is cutting hours to save money so next week I am not even on the schedule and the following week I work three hours, plenty of hours to pay the rent, not. My internship is still going well, love the people I work with, the projects I have been given have kept me occupied, so far so good.

Last week I caught the infamous stomach bug and it knocked me down for a few days. Got sick Monday night and didn't eat my first meal with flavor till Friday, and let me tell you I ate and ate on Friday.

Really looking forward to Spring Break the first week of March (yup 20 days away!!!)A break from Raleigh and classes will be amazing and is already needed. I am heading to Panama City Beach, Florida with two of my roommates and a couple other friends of ours. Praying for sunny, HOT weather and just an amazing week overall!

Here are some pictures from the amazing snow day in Raleigh!!

New Semester

The spring semester started on Wednesday the 7th as did my new internship. My schedule is pretty packed for the next few months, with 2 jobs and 16 credit hours. My classes are all Junior/Senior level classes and I love finally being in concentration classes and actually learning things that are useful.

I have one class Monday/Wednesday and that is a Business Ethics class. It is really interesting so far but I am curious to see how our first quiz goes because everything we have done so far is very much up to your own opinion.

I have four classes on Tuesday and three on Thursday. On Tuesday I have a Calc lab, yes calc, and yes it has been 3 years since I have taken it. Not sure why we have to take this class but we do, we shall see how it goes. After that I have Investments and Portfolio Management, then Marketing Research, and my last class is Personal Selling. So far, so good. I have a HUGE project in both of my marketing classes, 45 minute long presentations.. It will be great experience but is a huge jump from classes with only tests to classes that require so much participation.

I am also taking an online class, Operations. I like this class better than the other online classes I have taken in the past because this one has dvd's of the professor actually teaching the material.

My internship is going great so far, I love the people I work with and the tasks I am given actually require me to think, which is awesome. My other part-time job is going.. the department I work in is going to be phased out within the next few months and they have started to cut our hours, give away our work and it has become rather stressful. Until they completely cut our job, I am going to stay around just to make some extra money, since the internship is unpaid, probably until around March. So until then I work around 20-25 hours a week, take classes, participate in AKPsi and try to have a life. So far I am making it...
