PE Uniforms

So growing up, well really just Catholic school (1st-8th grade), I had uniforms and PE uniforms. No big deal, I was young and it was the normal thing to do at the time. I actually think I enjoyed my PE uniform back then because it was a lot more comfortable than my blue pants or skirt and white polo. Continuing on through the rest of my education, I had one semester of PE in high school and we were allowed to wear whatever. Sounds pretty normal, right? Well I am currently enrolled in Step Aerobics and we are required to wear uniforms, yes uniforms. Last time I checked I was in college and if I am old enough to live on my own, feed myself, drive myself around, basically be an adult, then why on earth do I have to wear a uniform? Am I overreacting? Probably, that is a bad habit of mine. Luckily my uniform is just a shirt and I am allowed to wear my own bottoms, but only if they are red, black or navy blue, and there are suppose to have minimal or no stripes on the side. Let me describe this shirt, better yet draw you an illustration:

YES, it has our size on it, why you ask, I have no idea! The part that really annoys me about these uniforms is that they expect you to rent them from the gym. I personally am not going to wear a gym shirt that 5+ other people wore, vom. That's just plain gross. Thankfully, the bookstore now sells the gym shirt so I am not forced to wear someones used workout outfit. People in my class were, which is totally fine for them, but someone had the year 2006 on there shirt. Umm I am a senior and in 2006 I was in high school. So if we do the math that means that shirt was worn by at least 10 different people (if you include summer sessions). Okay this turned out to be a lot longer than I meant but this is really how annoyed with them I am. One more annoyance, I have an Accounting class then a small break before PE. So after class I went to the bathroom and since I was already in there I decided to change. I saw several people I knew and every single one of them commented on my outfit. I, already being annoyed I had to wear this outfit, was now embarrassed that people were commenting on it. Oh the woes of college. Guess it's good that this is the only issue I am having in my life currently, definitely could be a lot worse. On that note I am going to stop venting and start on some Accounting homework, fun fun.

A little OCD.. don't you think? Only kidding, I'd have to buy new too..That reminded me of the time I boarded a small plane and they had to weigh me in front of everyone.. Now that's embarrassing....See...things can always be worse...

*gasp* DiDi - they weighed you?! Oh my my...

Court - there's nothing wrong with buying new and I'm sure you're rockin' the outfit. Remember, you just told me how much you like t-shirts. I'm sure you'll embrace the uniform in no time.

I'd just like to suggest that you could really enhance your post by providing a photo ;-)
